According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, every fourth inhabitant of the Netherlands has a migration background. More than half of Rotterdam’s population has a migration background, with a very large number of patients with a non-Dutch cultural background being treated at Erasmus MC. Current care does not fully meet the wishes and expectations of these groups. Culturally sensitive care is becoming increasingly important. This symposium offers a unique opportunity to increase knowledge and skills about intercultural care.
