8th International Calicivirus Conference
8th International Calicivirus Conference
07 mei / 11 mei
2023
This meeting which is organized every three years, brings together scientists studying calicivirus virology, evolution, pathogenesis, structural biology, diagnosis, epidemiology, treatment and prevention. Our philosophy is to bring all fields of science together, limiting the number of parallel sessions to allow bridging between basic and translational experts to stimulate collaboration. In recent years, significant and exiting progress has been made in understanding the virus life cycle, the burden and biology of calicivirus infections in humans and animals, the virus interactions with healthy and immunocompromised hosts, interactions with the microbiome, immunity, host genetics and epidemiology. Several treatment strategies and vaccines are under development to control acute and chronic norovirus infections in humans.
The conference is aimed to encourage interaction and open discussions, with a view to developing new collaborations and fostering new research ideas. Experts in the calicivirus field will be invited to share the latest information on their research by state-of-the-art lectures, whilst oral session presentations will bring the delegates up-to-date in all aspects of calicivirus research. To promote participation of researchers from middle and low-income countries, we hope a limited number of travel fellowships for participants from these countries will become available.
I am looking forward to welcoming you in Rotterdam in May 2023 for a wonderful scientific meeting and hope that you will have a great time at the conference, and enjoy Rotterdam and its amazing sites.
